Ofgem is committed to making a positive difference for energy consumers through effective regulation of the market and close working with suppliers to ensure sustainable energy for consumers and businesses in the UK.
We have roles within our General Counsel Office, Systems & Networks and Consumers & Markets Directorates. In these integral roles, you’ll provide a full range of value-added secretarial and administrative support to the Senior Leadership Team and their teams. Proactively managing senior team diaries, you’ll make best use of Ofgem’s new office space, technology and ways of working in arranging meetings, supporting the teams and dealing with diary clashes. Efficient, effective and organised, you’ll prioritise, monitor, manage and control all incoming and outgoing correspondence, papers, e-mails, and documents, taking action where appropriate. A keen eye for detail and high levels of accuracy are also essential, as you’ll be preparing meeting materials and presentations, as well as providing secretarial skills to the Directorate. Event co-ordination, travel arrangements, expense claims and invoice authorisation will also be within your remit.
Your excellent time management and organisational capability will be complemented by strong interpersonal and networking skills and the capacity to build rapport with staff and industry contacts at all levels. Our modern offices in Canary Wharf and Glasgow are home to an agile, technologically-advanced working environment, so you’ll need to be comfortable using technology to deliver smarter, more flexible ways of working. Highly proficient in MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, you’ll also be a master of document management, with skills in developing and maintaining learning logs and skills audits. A team worker who is also capable of working independently under your own initiative, you will be proactive, personable and capable of delivering at pace.
Ofgem can offer you a comprehensive and competitive benefits package, which includes:
- Up to 30 days’ annual leave
- Excellent training and development opportunities
- The opportunity to join the Civil Service pension arrangements, which include a valuable range of benefits
