HR Advisor for TOP School Federation
Salary – £26.000-£30.000
Start date – ASAP
Work pattern – Full-time (40 hours a week)
Contract – Temp for 3 months then perm (time may vary)
Location – East London
Our client is currently seeking an experienced HR Advisor who is ready to join a dynamic team in one of the top Federations in the country. RESPONSABILITIES:
- Legal Support advice and guidance
- Recruitment and Selection
- Performance Management
- Absence Management
- Statutory reporting

- Act as main point of contact for employees, providing advisory service to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT)
- Coaching and guiding managers to help them better understand the legal parameters within which to manage their staff confidently
- Ability to lead on investigations and hearings ensuring processes and procedures comply with the Federation policies and employment legislation and good HR practice.
- Assist with the recruitment and selection of staff including, organising interviews through to the administration of bringing in the new employee, including induction and INSET days
- Coordinating performance management and training development plans to support the high performing culture
- Contribute to the delivery of the HR plans via projects/organisational goals
- Proactively support the delivery of HR processes’, procedures and policies
- Maintaining the Single Central Record
- Management of fixed term contracts, staff handbook, policy update
- Ensure that payroll is advised (in a timely manner) of any pay changes such as starters and leavers notification, maternity and paternity leave etc.
- Ensuring all staff records and staff information on HR systems are accurate, updated promptly and maintained in a confidential manner, complying with Data Protection Act and working with the Data Manager in completing the School Workforce Census accurately and on time
- Together with other staff, undertaking the office administration as is required for a small busy function including the transfer of information into a new HR and payroll software system.
- Monitoring and recording staff attendance, in line with Federation policies and procedures, including supporting line managers in conducting absence management meetings, coaching in absence procedures and producing relevant letters
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in a similar role (they need the person to hit the ground running)
- IDEALLY FROM AN EDUCATION BACKGROUND
QUALIFICATIONS:
- HR degree (desirable but not essential)
- CIPD qualified ( they MUST BE at least level 3)
