Ofgem is committed to making a positive difference for energy consumers through effective regulation of the market and close working with suppliers to ensure sustainable energy for consumers and businesses in the UK.

In this highly visible role, you’ll provide a full range of executive, secretarial and administrative support to an Executive Director. Working alongside the private secretary, you’ll proactively manage the Executive Director’s diary and prioritise, monitor, and manage all incoming and outgoing correspondence, papers, e-mails, and documents. A keen eye for detail and high levels of accuracy are essential, as you’ll also be agenda-setting and preparing vital policy documents, meeting materials and presentations. Event co-ordination, travel arrangements, expense claims and invoice authorisation will also be within your remit.

You’ll be engaging with very senior colleagues across the organisation as well as external stakeholders, so a highly professional working style is a must-have. Your comprehensive track record in supporting senior level managers will be complemented by strong interpersonal and networking skills and the ability to build rapport with staff and industry contacts at all levels. Our modern offices in Canary Wharf are home to an agile, technologically-advanced working environment, so you’ll need to be comfortable delivering at pace, in a politically-charged environment with changing priorities. Highly proficient in MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, you’ll also be a master of document management including version control.

Ofgem can offer you a comprehensive and competitive benefits package, which includes:

  • Up to 30 days’ annual leave
  • Excellent training and development opportunities
  • The opportunity to join the Civil Service pension arrangements, which include a valuable range of benefits
  • Flexible working hours and family friendly policies
  • Subsidised gym and restaurant
  • Interest free season ticket loan.

Closing date: 11th June 2018.

Ofgem is an equal opportunities employer. Protecting consumers and powering the future of the energy debate.
