Facilities Officer
With a busy period ahead of them, our client is looking for a well-organised facility officer to join the team. This is a temporary role ongoing with a potential to go permanent depending on the business needs.
Who will you be working for?
You will be working for a reputable organisation operating within the healthcare sector. They act as legal council to set and maintain standards in healthcare practices around the UK. Our client is committed to protecting the public and offering a first class customer service experience.
Based in the Kennington area of London, this is a quiet and relaxed part of town away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Easily accessible by all forms of transport including bus routes and tube links, the building is a grand old Victorian building set on the main thoroughfare on Kennington. A few cafes and shops adorn the area as well as other handy local services.
What the role will entail:
- Maintain the building to a safe standard by ensuring all health and safety, fire and environmental procedures are followed
- Ensure all their buildings meet their standard "look and feel" and are always kept to a high level of cleanliness
- Engage with approved contractors to deliver contracted services including but not limited to of security, maintenance, mail, cleaning, and catering.
- Carry out the proactive maintenance schedule of all departmental
- To carry out repairs and maintenance to their premises as and when required
- Meet agreed formal performance standards to monitor and agreed Facilities service levels
- Manage and support departmental changes
- Organise the furniture layouts for all meeting rooms as required
- Manage tasks assigned within the online ticketing system that relate to the Reception team
- To liaise with colleagues on issues relating to the operation of the Facilities function
- Continuous improvement of Facilities team
- Able to order goods or services from existing suppliers
- Be a key holder and open up their buildings, as required by Office Services Management
- Manage the incoming and outgoing mail using the franking machine
- Consults with the Facilities Manager for guidance on any complex issues
- Liaises with the Reception team to provide a joined up service
- Provide Reception team cover and assist when requested by Office Services Management In addition to those duties.
About you
- Awareness of legislation surrounding premises management - including security, health and safety, environmental, mechanical and electrical plant, government initiatives etc.
- Honest, reliable and good communicator
- Holds a trades qualification in a relevant field or equivalent knowledge and understanding
- Manage third party relationships including suppliers and contractors of all outsourced services.
- Organised and perform duties efficiently - including functions and office moves
- Ability to set and maintain standards of quality
- Contract negotiations; good with numbers
- Basic computer competency - Microsoft products including word and excel
This is a temporary ongoing role paying up to £22,000 per annum.
