PR Assistant

Our client is looking for a temporary PR assistant to join them as soon as possible for 4-6 weeks with potential to go on further. You will be joining one of the educational establishments in the UK focusing on training, research, quality and advice to its vast member base in the healthcare. Professionalism, dedication and passion are what make the company successful.

The role is on a temporary basis whilst they recruit permanently, working 3 days a week Tuesday to Thursday.

What does the role consist of?

To provide a range of administration and organisational support to the PR Manager in delivering key public relations initiatives, campaigns and member communications. This will include;

  • Monitoring and management of day-to-day content
  • To be the first point of contact for queries from members
  • Reporting to the PR Manager
  • Plan and organise their support tasks and logistical activities to meet PR, communication, and social media deadlines.
  • Responsible for providing routine responses to queries; providing administrative support
  • To work across multiple projects
  • Monitoring, posting and sharing appropriate content on their social media feeds
  • Creating or identifying collateral to accompany social media messages
  • Drafting copy for different audiences and communication channels
  • First point of contact for enquiries relating to campaigns, activity fund and merchandise
  • Producing monthly and ad-hoc social media statistic reports
  • PR administration; compiling and building relevant media lists, maintaining accurate records
  • Providing support for annual PR campaigns
  • Organising PR meetings as required
  • Report to and work very closely with the PR Manager
  • Working closely with other communications colleagues, Public Affairs and Policy

What will the successful candidate be like?

  • Knowledge of key social media platforms and their use including Twitter, Facebook
  • Knowledge of key public relations functions
  • Awareness of key issues in health or education
  • PR & communications experience
  • Experience of managing competing demands
  • Well Organised and self-monitoring
  • Excellent copywriting for a variety of audiences and channels
  • Ability to use social media to grow audiences
  • Able to think creatively
  • IT literate
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Ability to work effectively within a team or on their own
