Our client, a residential property SME are seeking a Bookkeeper to take responsibility for strategic and financial information, analysis and guidance to ensure the financial commitments of the business are met.

This is an exciting time for the organisation as they are about to launch a new venture and are looking for someone with the right personality who has passion and wants to get stuck in with all tasks. They are looking for someone who has a "no task is too small or too big" attitude.

Duties:

  • Assisting in creating processes and procedures for the new venture, including controls, KPI's, cash management
  • Total responsibility of the accounting function
  • Liaise with senior management team to enable the growth of the business
  • Management of all tax and regulatory compliance issues
  • Oversee and review monthly management accounts
  • Create monthly investor packs
  • Prepare Annual Financial Information and Tax packs to be reviewed by external accountants
  • Preparing and submitting information to statutory authorities including HMRC
  • Preparation of yearly budgets
  • Oversee the preparation of quarterly VAT returns
  • Cash flow management and banking
  • Manage insurances
  • Develop forecasting models (P&L, Balance Sheet and Cashflow)
  • Review company internal controls and procedures, including ISO

Essential skills/experience:

  • Experience using Xero Accounting software
  • CIMA qualified
  • Good computer skills in Microsoft applications, with advanced Excel skills
  • Inter personal skills, the ability to listen and respond to people's requirements
  • Good organisational skills and excellent communication skills
  • Willingness to learn and develop
  • Adaptable, ability to work flexibly and use own initiative
  • Attention to detail
  • Sound decision making with a hand-on approach
  • Up to date knowledge of accounting regulations
  • Team Player
  • Managing relationships with tact and diplomacy

Desired skills/experience:

  • Experience of working in a Property Environment/SME
