Our client, an established Advisory Brokerage based in the heart of the City, are currently seeking advisory Brokers to join their expanding desk. The role involves advising clients on core equity and bond portfolios along with alternative investments such as cryptocurrencies and hedge funds to compliment the core product. The role will involve running a client book on a daily basis and updating them on market movements, corporate actions and general macro events. In addition to this our brokers will be advising their clients when to buy and sell as well as when to take long/short positions using derivative products, if suitable for that particular client.
The Role
Responsible for building and establishing a profitable client base and helping to develop
the firms overall standing in the market.
Generating new business via leads and referrals
Responsible for advising clients on straight agency recommendations, CFD positions long and short and any other products or services the company want and can reasonably expect you to be capable of advising on.
Researching information about the market in UK or foreign equities.
Providing appropriate advice to private clients, by phone, direct contact or email using research, data and tools provided by the company
Buying or selling for clients from advisory or execution only orders.
Managing and reviewing portfolios on an advisory basis
Arranging meetings for existing and new clients
Ensure that all operations are carried out in accordance with the firm's own policies and procedures in addition to FSA rules.
Understanding of the regulatory responsibilities within your control function and the general principles of approved persons
Ensuring under all aspects of your job that you treat customers fairly and can prove at all
times using the tools available that you have treated your customers fairly.
Ensuring the companies phone lines are answered promptly
Maintaining personal training and development plan in accordance with company procedure
The Person
2+ years’ experience in a broking role dealing with retail/professional clients
Minimum Level 4 RDR qualified (essential)
A strong understanding of UK and European Equity Markets
Excellent work ethic
Ideally a transferrable client book or the ability to bring business with them
