£60,000 p.

Working as part of the Brand, Marketing & Sales (BMS) team for this hugely successful City Law Firm, the successful candidate will have experience gained within a business services marketing & BD function at a major professional services firm - preferably within the legal sector.

This role is responsible for PR & Communications activity, primarily in London, but also in a supportive capacity for BMS representatives in Asia.

The key purpose of the role:

*Develop and deliver strategic PR plans for and teams across the firm
*Deploy PR and broader communications tactics to position the Firm as an expert in it chosen fields
*Provide copywriting and editorial resource and guidance in support of firm and practice area business goals
*Integrate PR & communications with other marketing tactics to achieve maximum impact in the market
*Build and foster profitable relations with key journalists and media outlets across the Firm's target markets
*Develop and deliver strategic internal and external communications plans, making full use of a range of media

Specific responsibilities include:

PR
*Work with Senior Management, Partners and BMS colleagues to develop and execute on strategic PR activity in support of defined business goals
*Take ownership for proactive and reactive media relations activity
*Be the contact point and fulcrum for incoming queries from all media
*Proactively manage the relationship with the Firm's external PR agency, reviewing the service delivered where necessary
*Monitor, measure and be prepared to report on the Firm's PR activity
*Be prepared to offer ad hoc media training and advice

Broader communications
*Work with the Senior Manager to implement best practice and improve processes across all PR & Communications activity
*Responsible for sourcing, drafting and editing content for The Firm's live internal news channel
*Act as primary contact for copyediting to ensure content and thought leadership adheres to house style, liaising with production team where relevant
*Research, write and edit award submissions
*Offer ad hoc copywriting services for internal - and, sometimes, external - clients

This role offers significant face time with senior people across the Firm, including the Managing Partner, members of the board, and all the Business Services Directors.

Experience and qualifications:
*Educated to degree level - perhaps CIM/CIPR-qualified
*Proven experience of successfully developing and delivering PR and Communications tactics within a professional services environment (ideally in the legal sector)

*Excellent editorial and writing skills, with ability to flex across many styles
*A good understanding of house style and tone of voice
*Ideally has strong existing relationships with key target media (legal; national etc)
