Our client are a Charity in the Waltham Forest area. They are looking for a Philanthropy Manager to join their team.

The Philanthropy Manager will be responsible for growing and maintaining relationships with Philanthropists and High Network Individuals to generate major donations. You will be responsible for building on the current major donor programme and growing income and other contributions from high network individuals. You must be an excellent networker, with excellent account management experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Working with the Head of Corporate and Major Gifts in creating a strategy in line with the company’s vision to maximise HNWI fundraising to support planned activities
  • Managing prospective and existing major donors and attracting new donors to the charity
  • Working with the Major Donor executive to maximise income from the annual givers and grow year-on-year
  • Creating a portfolio of compelling project asks which can be personalised
  • To lead on the Major Donor prospect list and creating a rolling two year programme of asks
  • Ensuring appropriate participation by major donors in company events
  • Executing a calendar of regular contact with all Major Donors, whether by personal visit, email, phone or post
  • Researching and writing applications to the Corporate Trust and liaise with the corporate team ensuring these opportunities are maximised
  • Researching and writing applications to family trusts and HNWI
  • To work with politicians and other influencers to introduce new supports to the charity
  • Attending special events and providing support to the Events Manager on guest lits
  • Recording all donations and correspondence on the database
  • Working to an agreed financial target annually
  • Ensuring Gift Aid opportunities are maximised at point of solicitation

Requirements:

  • Proven track record in major donor fundraising, with evidence of securing 5 and 6 figure donations
  • Experience of working with senior individuals from inside and outside the organisation, developing existing relationships and establishing new ones
  • Excellent networking skills
  • Proven ability to manage and prioritise own workload
  • Target orientated and highly motivated
  • Experience of working with volunteers
  • Flexibility with working out of hours and weekends when necessary
  • Ability to write engaging, persuasive and creative copy
  • Experience of making the ‘ask’ successfully
  • Ability to prepare and deliver compelling presentations and engage a wide range of audiences
  • Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Full clean UK driving licence and access to a car
  • A good understanding of charity legislation
