Receptionist role in lovely Preparatory School based in Wimbledon, London paying up to £26k DOE!

As an ambassador for the school you will be responsible for the first point of contact, as well as providing excellent customer service support within the Leadership and Administration teams, but also for the wider School community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Timely, professional and welcoming receipt of visitors ensuring security procedures are complied with and visitors announced appropriately
  • Assisting with the security of the site as controlled through the reception area and main entrance gate;
  • Maintain the tidiness, cleanliness and presentation of the reception/front of School area at all times
  • Screening of all telephone calls into the School, forwarding all calls appropriately and accurately
  • Managing calls from out of hours
  • Manage and distribute telephone contact lists, post updates and information to the appropriate notice boards, including the staff room as appropriate;
  • Administration support as directed and as appropriate to all members of the School Leadership and Administration teams, including but not exclusively so:
    • PA to the Headmistress, Headmistress and Deputy Headteacher
    • Marketing and Admissions
    • Business Management
    • General School administration including (but not exclusively so) filing, photocopying, collating documents, presentations and faxes, etc.
  • Assist in the management of fire evacuations and liaising with the emergency services
  • Receive, sort and distribute mail in the School as well as prepare mail for postal services;
  • Manage deliveries and couriers as appropriate, ensuring goods received/delivery notes are checked and passed to Finance
  • Ordering stationary supplies as appropriate, managing stock levels and distribution
  • Booking taxis where appropriate for visitors

Relevant Knowledge & Experience:

  • Educated to A level standard and/or equivalent (NVQ Level 3)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and IT confident
  • Social media and/or digital skills are an advantage
  • Experience of working in a receptionist role
  • Knowledge of filing systems and databases
  • Familiarity of working with office equipment such as faxes, copiers, etc.
  • Experience of working in a school in not essential

Adhering to the policies of the school, in particular policies relating to the safeguarding of children.

Details:

Salary: £24,000 - £26,000

Hours: 52 week contract, working 42.5 hours a week including lunch hours, Monday to Friday.

Pension: Auto enrolment fixed contribution scheme.

Holidays: you will be entitled to 25 work days paid holiday and all bank holidays with pay.

Other Benefits: From 1st September 2017, staff will be entitled to 25% reduction in School fees.

Probationary Period: All support staff posts are subject to a six month probationary period.
