Accounts Assistant –Property Investment Co. - £23K to £25K

This small, friendly, professional, boutique property investment company have an opportunity for a budding Accounts Assistant or Finance Assistant to join their team. Based in their central London office, it’s a newly established role so in addition to a check list of classic duties there’s room to develop organically too. You’ll be working in to the Head of Finance who is an effective delegator not prone to micro-management.

That check list of duties…

Prepare for review by the Head of Finance:

  • Monthly management accounts
  • Audit schedules
  • Client/bank account reconciliations
  • Processing of supplier invoices
  • BACs payments
  • Reporting and analysis on Xero

Additionally:

  • Supporting the Head of Finance on ad hoc projects
  • Production of reports for e.g. office running costs, telephony, utilities, cars & parking etc.
  • Liaison with suppliers
  • Produce quarterly contractor expenditure reports
  • Filing supplier invoices, sales invoices, bank statements, etc.
  • Petty cash management, reconciliation and analysis, including processing of staff expenses
  • Credit card statement reconciliation and allocation
  • Organise currency withdrawals for foreign trips and reconciling expenditure

You’ll need at least a year as a finance assistant or accounts assistant in a small to medium size business. They use Xero but as it’s quite an intuitive package previous experience isn’t necessary, although some knowledge of an accounting package will be advantageous.

Qualifications: You’ll need something relevant, a degree in finance/business/economics, or part into/starting CIMA or AAT. As it’s a new role there is no precedent for study support but although small they are a progressive company who are very positive about training their staff well, be it financial or time-wise, study support is on the table for discussion.
