Purpose of the job

Our marketing team are responsible for brand and consumer advertising; experiential and partnership marketing; digital marketing; energy supplier marketing; and insight and evaluation across our nationwide behaviour change campaign. As such, we’re a super-busy team creating brilliant marketing that will engage every home in Britain.

As personal assistant to the head of energy supplier marketing, you’ll be supporting some of our most critically important relationships. You’ll be responsible for making sure that the head of energy supplier marketing has everything she needs to be efficient and effective; capturing and recording high level conversations, meetings and communications; maintaining a record of interactions between Smart Energy GB and the energy suppliers we work with to ensure that the head of energy supplier marketing always has an up to date and accurate picture; planning her schedule to make the most of her time and ensuring that she’s well prepared and well briefed.

You will be required to work on the go as you travel around the country with the head of energy supplier marketing; having up to date and in-depth knowledge of what is happening across our five key marketing functions, the wider organisation and the energy suppliers. 

Key tasks / responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive personal and administrative support to the head of energy supplier marketing
  • Attend meetings with the head of energy supplier marketing as required, taking notes- verbatim if necessary - detailed and accurate minutes or actions as appropriate
  • Establish and maintained a detailed record of all communications with energy suppliers, including phone calls, meetings and emails with appropriately detailed notes of discussions and agreed actions
  • Establish and maintain an efficient paper and digital filing system
  • Maintain exceptional communication with the head of energy supplier marketing
  • Manage the head of energy supplier marketing’s diary, arranging room bookings internally and at external venues and making all necessary travel and accommodation arrangements
  • Prepare briefing documents ahead of meetings and phone calls
  • Maintain and submit the head of energy supplier marketing’s expenses as required
  • Assist with tracking and chasing actions within the marketing team
  • Establish and maintain a comprehensive and detailed contact database
  • Prepare document/report summaries as required
  • Answering phone calls, drafting emails and letters as required
  • Other tasks as may reasonably be required

  • Excellent IT skills, especially in the Microsoft Office suite
  • Outstanding written and spoken English
