We are looking for a temporary Impact and Promotion Officer. The role is working for a non-for p[profit organisation and you will be based in the Grants Team, which is responsible for a portfolio of UK and international grants programmes. The temporary role will report to the Senior Manager for Impact and Evaluation

The role will assist with promoting the portfolio of the Grants, ensuring that the opportunities for funding are promoted to all relevant audiences in a timely manner. The role will also work on documenting the successes of scientists that are funded, as well as contributing to organisation, administration and delivery of training courses, networking events and other activities managed by the wider team.

Duties include:

Impact of Grants

  • Collect and write up case studies about the Research Fellows and other grant holders, to help demonstrate the impact of funding and to illustrate the grants portfolio to prospective applicants

Promotion of Grants

  • Maintain and update the content of the Grants Team's pages on the website
  • Co-ordinate the content and delivery of regular newsletters and other communications to Research Fellows and other grant holders
  • On behalf of Grants Team, contribute to other communications and newsletters

Other

  • Support other colleagues in the Impact and Promotion team to organise and deliver a range of training and networking activities and events
  • Act as point of contact for e-mail queries to the Grants Team
  • Contribute to administration of the new Grants Management System
  • Contribute to other activities of the Impact and Promotion Team
  • Undertake such other duties as may be assigned by the Senior Managers

The right candidate will have excellent written and spoken communication skills, ideally experience of writing for promotion and engagement - for example, someone with experience of writing newsletters or similar communications.

You must be able to start work on Monday 21 August and commit to working for 12 weeks - the role is available on the permanent side as well.
