TAX SUPERVISOR

A wonderful opportunity has arisen for a Tax Supervisor for a chartered accountants based in Watford.

You will work with a small and friendly team that are growing and developing constantly

Duties:

• Managing all aspects of tax compliance within own client portfolio which may consist of individuals, sole traders, rental accounts and trusts.
• Dealing with the planning work arising within own client portfolio (under guidance of managers for more complex assignments)
• Taking on one off project work (under guidance of managers)
• Assisting managers with research and compliance work.
• Matters may be complex and demanding as well as routine.
• Supporting and training of other members of the team, including juniors.  Delegating compliance work to junior staff.
• Reviewing compliance work across the department where appropriate (not limited to more junior staff). 
• Being aware of and identifying areas of planning undertaking this work but seeking assistance from senior colleagues and/or external specialist advisers if required.
• Continuing development of own expertise and technical knowledge through training/technical reading and assignment-based research.  

Candidate Requirement:

• CTA qualified with at least 3 years’ experience and training
• Strong technical competence and awareness
• Service-minded, responsive, pro-active, polite and presentable.
• Dependable, adaptable, flexible, and team-minded, but with the ability to work unsupervised on both routine tasks as well as more technically demanding matters and/or under pressure.
• Self-motivated
• Demonstrates professionalism in all aspects of the role, whether it is with clients or staff;
• Where promotion is sought, clearly demonstrating a desire to develop the ability to work at a higher level through self-advancement and the seeking/accepting of challenges.

• Able to get on well with a wide variety of clients and demonstrate a responsible attitude
• Self-motivated
• Capable of managing several tasks and priorities at once.
