A leading investment bank based in Canary Wharf has an exciting opportunity for a Research Assistant to come on board and join the Fixed Income Strategy Research - EMEA Team.

This role is a 6 month contract and you will be responsible for looking after the heads of the European Fixed Income Strategy and European Economics research teams; as well as providing support to their direct reports.

The Research Assistant will be responsible for:

  • Diary management, including requesting and organising meetings
  • Liaising with internal and external clients in order to facilitate meetings and conference calls
  • Schedule meetings and trips
  • Organising a high volume of travel arrangements; a good knowledge of travel networks, airlines, hotels, train systems, cars etc is preferred. Including additional duties of arranging visas
  • Dealing efficiently and politely with requests from clients and other departments
  • Preparation and processing of complicated expense reports in a timely fashion ensuring adherence to policy
  • Extensive telephone assistance
  • Arranging presentations in preparation for client meetings

As a Research Assistant you will need the following skills:

  • Previous experience within Research or the Trading Floor is essential
  • Previous Investment Banking experience is essential
  • Strong MS Office skills; experience with Word, Excel & PowerPoint
  • Excellent understanding of urgency
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to pick up new systems quickly
  • Ability to organise and prioritise complicated travel
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Flexible on working hours and understanding of the business demands
  • Able to manage stress, personable, self confident
  • Ability to anticipate needs, particularly for repeated tasks
  • Demonstrates outstanding work ethic
  • Flexible on working hours and understanding of the business demands
  • Produces high quality, accurate timely work
