A rather unique role has become available for a freelance designer to cover holiday and busy periods and be on our client’s books for any ad-hoc work. Our client is a leading global bank based at Canary Wharf and the rate for this position will be £23ph.

The successful designer must be a freelancer and happy to come in as needed and when they are free. Holiday cover tends to be a few weeks at a time and there will also be ad-hoc days when required. The role will involve the designer being able to work from conception through to completion. They will effectively be involved in projects, budgets and timelines and have the ability to handle multiple projects whilst working in a fast paced environment. The hours for this role will be Monday to Friday 9am-5.30pm.

The key responsibilities will include but will not be limited to the following:

• Undertaking design work, ensuring items are produced correctly, proofed and send by requested deadlines
• Establishing and sustaining a professional and productive rapport with clients
• Dealing with clients, both in person and on the phone, in a courteous and positive manner even when under pressure to deliver heavy workloads
• Understanding the corporate guidelines and advising/policing work for clients
• Undertaking when necessary brand approvals
• Proof-reading work prior to client signoff and any further print/finishing process
• Take ownership for the projects allocated in terms of client service, quality, deadline management and the final product

The candidate should have the following experience:

• MAC and PC knowledge
• Advanced knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and HTML
• Strong acrobat skills including some if its advanced functions
• A good working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and Word
• Strong creative talent
