We currently have an exciting opportunity for you to join our Accountancy Practice based in Slough as a Secretary to one of our Equity Partners.

Applicants must:

1. Come from an accounting/legal or medical background

2. Possess Advanced Word (fast accurate typing - minimum of 60wpm)

3. Good fast Audio Skills (min 60wpm).

Summary role description

Providing a support function to the partner and team within an Accountancy Practice

The Role

  • Providing a support function to the partner and team within an Accountancy Practice
  • Plan, drive and complete initiatives on behalf of the Partner, working on own initiative and within the team e.g. some short-term client-facing project management
  • Ensure efficient and accurate production of confidential correspondence and documentation
  • Provide the first point of contact on behalf of the Partner for all telephone calls and deal with proactively
  • Open all incoming mail and action as necessary
  • Diary management and co-ordination of internal and external meetings
  • Have an awareness and understanding of all areas of the business, update the Partner as necessary and act as ambassador on his behalf
  • Organise off site meetings and ensure their smooth running
  • Keep other teams and departments informed of relevant activities to ensure the efficiency of company operations and excellent customer relations
  • General Administration
  • Administration of client contracts
  • Compile and publish monthly financial information
  • Support the department as required
  • Ad hoc Project Management


  • Preparation and creative input into email and fax direct mail
  • Responsibility for team administration tasks
  • Secretarial duties
  • Diary Management
  • Routine correspondence
  • Organising weekly conference calls, and updating schedules
  • Taking Minutes and attending to action points arising from the meetings.
  • Organising Networking events
  • Raising invoices

    Skills Required

  • Advanced Word (fast accurate typing - minimum of 60wpm)
  • Good fast Audio Skills min 60wpm.
  • Intermediate Excel
  • Solid experience as Senior Secretary
  • Excellent telephone technique
  • Ability to prioritise and set own deadlines
  • Experience of implementing and undertaking own project work
  • An excellent combination of verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Consistent in producing a high standard of work
