The Secret PA enjoys the heatwave
Strawberries, champagne and tennis whites are aplenty in SW19, with Wimbledon Fever taking Londoners – and the rest of the UK - by storm once more. Luckily for me, M.D Underwood will be sat in the Corporate Hospitality suite at Centre Court with clients for much of the next two weeks but, so far, he's made a great effort in ensuring that it won't be quite the 'catch up with admin' opportunity that I had planned.
Since Monday, I've had two angry phone calls from him about the chauffeurs I've booked not arriving on time, one panic dash across London with an important document that he left in the office and he's also kindly set his entire inbox to be redirected for me to deal with for the fortnight. On several occasions over the past few days, I've found myself wishing that the interns were still with us.
Aside from work though, I've had a great week enjoying the London heatwave. Last night I actually found time to leave the office a little early and meet my friend for a cocktail at Bloom Gin Rooftop Garden in Leicester Square. It's one of my favourite rooftop bars in London and was perfect for soaking up the last of the day's rays yesterday.
At the weekend, I also visited the Alexander McQueen Savage Beauty exhibition at the V&A with my sister, which was the first time I've seen her since she finally landed back on British soil after 8 months of travelling. The exhibition was so amazing, it made me head straight home and book a couple of other things I've had my eye on for the last few months, including:
- Fashion on the Ration: 1940s Street Style at the Imperial War Museum
- Yves Saint Laurent: Style is Eternal at The Bowes Museum, Durham
- Audrey Hepburn: Portraits of an Icon at National Portrait Gallery
- Shoes: Pleasure and Pain at the V&A
Have you been doing anything fun around the city lately? Anyone heading to Wimbledon? Underwood has given me his Mens Semi-Final ticket for next Friday as he's promised Mrs Vader that he'll go to her Mother's birthday celebrations in Hampshire. Just one of the many perks of being a PA in the Fashion PR world.
