Know a Legal PA who deserves recognition?
The SecsintheCity PA of the Year Awards are back this November – with the esteemed Legal PA of the Year category also making a return.
The Legal PA of the Year Award celebrates the dedication and hard work of PAs, EAs and office support experts in the ever-changing, demanding world of the legal sector.
Below, we share some testimonials from previous winners explaining their PA of the Year Awards experiences:
Amy Franklyn – Winner of Legal PA of the Year 2018
Amy was nominated for the award in light of her success as EA to the Head of Corporate at Bird & Bird LLP; managing a team of 11 Legal PAs and establishing the firm’s PA network in London.
This supportive network is the first of its kind in a law firm, which has encouraged over 80 PAs from across the business to collaborate and share their knowledge. Despite this fantastic achievement, Amy said she was “shocked” to be nominated.
The interview stage followed soon after, and Amy shared her thoughts on the process: “I really enjoyed the interview – the judges were so nice and genuinely interested in my role. There were smiles all round for the whole interview and I could tell the judges liked what I had done.”
With regards to the awards ceremony, Amy said it was a “lovely” experience and “very well planned.” She continued to share her praise: “I felt really special. Everybody took the time to speak to me and congratulate me on my nomination. I met some other fabulous EAs who all deserved to be there. The food was delicious as was the company. I was papped all night. Think Julia Roberts in Hollywood and you're there.”
Kathleen Riordan – Winner of Legal PA of the Year 2017
Kathleen won the award in 2017 for her first-class dedication as a Legal PA at Schillings.
When describing the nomination process, Kathleen said, “It was lovely when I found out that I had been nominated by the Partner I work for and I had a lot of lovely messages of support from my colleagues at work. I was so thrilled to be nominated.”
Kathleen also shared her thoughts on the ceremony itself: “The awards night was amazing. I attended with my manager and we had a fabulous time. It was lovely to meet the other PAs nominated and we were all made to feel very special. It is great that these awards highlight the hard work and dedication of PAs.”
