Paralegal/PA (Contentious)

Looking for a Paralegal/PA to join a Law Firm in London.  The role of Paralegal/PA is a initial contract for 6 months, with the possibility of a extension.

Responsibilities/Duties of the Paralegal/PA
•Preparation of legal documents as required.
•Proofreading and updating documents, using initiative to flag queries
•Creating court bundles and maintaining register of bundles on active matters.
•Researching, analysing and interpreting general business periodicals and professional journals, annual reports etc.
•Preparation of bundles and other legal documents as required
•MQ2 administration - file opening and closing, retainer letters and conflict checks
•Preparation of monthly bills
•Checking for monies on account and to see whether bills have been paid
•Knowledge management - creation and maintaining of precedents
•Typing and amending attendance notes, letters, faxes, presentations and other documents as required, using Microsoft Office and the DMS
•Preparing and sending e-mails to include attaching documents, printing and filing of incoming emails, attachments and confirmations
•Photocopying, faxing and filing
•Liaising with other departments
•To regularly, frequently and accurately maintain and update correspondence and other filing
•Liaising with clients in a timely, professional and courteous manner
•Maintaining client contact details on CRM (Interaction) database
•To work under pressure to meet deadlines with a flexible attitude to working overtime on the few occasions when an urgent transaction may require
•To transcribe audio dictation and copy type letters, memos and reports and to prepare signed correspondence for despatch
•To maintain confidentiality in respect of those matters which are commercially sensitive or secret and only share them with colleagues and others on a need to know basis who are themselves bound by an obligation of confidentiality
•To work with other secretaries/paralegals in the Department with a view to providing holiday, illness and other necessary cover to agreed standards
•Offering assistance to others in the department as required
•Providing support as required by the fee-earners to whom the paralegal PA will report.
•Paginating exhibits/documents.
•Cross referencing exhibits.
•Obtaining land registry and companies house documents.
•Extensive diary management including setting up meetings, liaising with clients and client advisors and Co-ordinating and managing multiple diaries and appointments
•Ad-hoc duties where required, including but not limited to; arranging team social events; BD events for fee-earners; updating InterAction; managing "pending" matters; diarising chasers to clients to return documents or proceed matters
•Assist other departments with PPA duties e.g. bundling as well as providing cover for fee earners diary management, fielding calls and dealing with post

Skills/Experience
•Educated to at least GDL/LPC level (or equivalent) is preferred;
•Previous Paralegal experience in Media or Reputation Department is preferred;
•Dynamic and driven with an ability to work independently with initiative, discretion and confidentiality;
•Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise to work to deadlines;
•Resilient and calm under pressure;
•Excellent attention to detail;
•Candidates should have some experience with copy and audio typing (digital dictation) - with a typing speed of around 60wpm;
•Effective oral and written communication;
•Languages skills desirable, but not essential.
•Good team working skills;
•Good research skills;
•Good IT skills: thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet Explorer;
