Our client, a not for profit organisation assisting young graduates with their careers is looking for a Business Development and Corporate Relations Manager to join their team on a permanent basis. The primary aim of this role is to grow the number of sponsor company work placements that are offered by prospecting for new sponsor companies and leveraging relationships with existing ones.

In addition you will be required to travel globally to conduct interviews for potential placements so if you fancy travel to America, India and Hong Kong then this could be the job for you.

Responsibilities

  • Identifying potential new sponsor companies
  • Researching key decision makers both business and human resources within organisations and building relationships
  • Determining and implementing the best means of getting in front of decision makers including emailing, personal introductions, networking events, letters and phone calls
  • Leveraging relationships with existing sponsor companies to promoting the programme to other business groups within their organisations
  • Utilising the alumni database to promote the programme within their organisations
  • Researching ex-sponsor managers now work and reengaging with them
  • Setting-up meetings with decision makers
  • Planning approaches and pitches that ensure the best chance of creating new placements
  • Developing effective marketing material to support the development of new business
  • Attending and networking at appropriate industry functions and events with a view to creating contacts and subsequent pitch meetings
  • Maintaining proper records of all potential leads and contacts
  • Managing the placement process
  • Acting as the main point of contact for sponsors throughout the year to ensure smooth operation of the programme
  • Managing the matching and placement process of candidates to sponsor roles
  • Conducting candidate interviews in New York and London
  • Maintaining and updating the sponsorship database
  • Issuing sponsor contracts to sponsor companies
  • Resolving work placement issues and providing pastoral care to interns related to work placement
  • Creating orientation presentations
  • Providing pastoral care and mentorship to trainees

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Educated to degree level
  • At least three years experience in corporate business development ideally within a recruitment firm
  • Interest in international cultural exchange and education
  • Must be willing to travel
