Trinity Mirror is looking for an experienced and accomplished Executive Personal Assistant to provide secretarial and administrative support to the Regional Managing Director, whilst maintaining a high degree of professionalism, confidentiality and discretion.
The ideal candidate will preferably come from a background in large blue-chip company and will hold typing to RSA standard which is updated in line with technological advances. An interest in digital and social media is also a must.
Please note the role will be based out of Newcastle but will involve travel to our Teesside office when necessary.
Key duties and responsibilities:
• To provide a confidential secretarial service to the RMD, and other Senior Managers, including filing, correspondence & email management. Provision of Word, Power point and Excel documents ensuring speed, accuracy and top quality presentation.
• To manage diary, meetings and travel schedules for the RMD
• To look after the Boardroom and other key meeting room diaries and to ensure that key General Management areas are kept presentable and to a high, professional standard.
• To update, manage and maintain a company ‘VIP’ database for various uses in social and business context.
• To organise and manage various networking events as directed by the RMD
• To look actively for new business leads and contacts and to keep abreast of relevant external developments.
• To get involved with staff activities such as the Sports & Social Club
• To lead regular meetings of the company wide PA / Secretarial team to explore further efficiencies and ‘smarter’ ways of working.
• To ensure that all Group information requests are dealt with promptly and professionally.
• To deal with customers in a professional and friendly manner.
• To take on duties and responsibilities as may be required according to company priorities and procedures.

Key Skills required:
• Enjoy the excitement / variety/ pressure and responsibility of a senior PA role within the publishing industry
• Excellent organisational skills- the ability to prioritise and organise a heavy workload
• Provide quick, accurate turnaround of work
• Smart appearance
• Good listening and communication skills at all levels – particularly telephone and face to face
• Advanced knowledge of computer systems and programmes including Word, Excel, Power Point, Gmail and docs, creative layout and presentation skills
• Digital and social media- savvy
• Creative thinker and problem solver
• Experience of organising and managing client events
• Ability to establish and develop professional working relationships with senior business people and their PA’s.
