My client who is a very well established asset management firm based in the West End is looking for an experienced IT Administrator who ideally has an IT qualification or started their career in IT helpdesk support who is now looking to work in a corporate environment, working as part of a team, being the "go to" person for any IT and communication issues. This is a very interesting and challenging role and would suit someone who has a very curious nature about technology, together with research ability to source new systems to support the business. Working knowledge of Office 365 would be advantageous as you will be involved in the migration of systems with the company's IT Support Team.

Duties will include:

  • PC Software: Proficiency with Microsoft Office package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Ad hoc lunchtime reception cover including holiday and sickness cover
  • Provide first response assistance to office staff and remote users (including desktop, phone, network and systems support)
  • Act as a liaison between the external IT providers and the wider team (including following up and ensuring issues are resolved to the user's satisfaction)
  • Installation, operation and maintenance of the computer systems and other technologies, such as communication systems
  • Be forward thinking about technology requirements.
  • Liaising and negotiating contracts with vendors to ensure effective implementation of hardware and software
  • Writing reports, track inventory, evaluating new technologies
  • Diary management; arranging and confirming meetings and managing around priorities
  • Travel booking arrangements including:
  • General correspondence, photocopying, scanning, sending faxes in a timely manner
  • Organising expense claims
  • Assisting with the preparation of reports (including printing, copying, binding and distribution)
  • Assisting with ad-hoc projects
  • Providing adhoc cover on reception

Skills and experience required

  • Can-do attitude, i. pitching in to get the job done
  • Fluent English (written and oral), other languages desirable.
  • Works well under pressure

  • Well-rounded understanding of technology and a willingness to learn
