A leading recruitment company who specialise in public and not-for-profit sectors as well as leadership development is looking for a Team Lead to join their team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be accountable for planning, guiding and overseeing team performance within the Leadership and Talent Consultancy team. You will be supporting the Project Delivery Manager to ensure that they have visibility of workload and capacity within the team and to provide managerial support to project coordinators on a day-to-day basis. You will be passionate about your work, open to new ideas and focused on delivering consistently high-quality results.

Responsibilities:

Team management

  • Helping your team to understand the company vision and purpose and the role that they personally play to help the business achieve its ambitions
  • Ensuring that all individuals have personal objectives/areas of focus which clearly outline goals and key performance indicators.
  • Reviewing performance data, working with Leadership/finance to support appropriate forecasting and manage budgets
  • Meeting regularly with direct reports to discuss performance, progress and provide feedback
  • Providing every individual with the space to grow within a safe environment through coaching and mentoring
  • Leading effective performance conversations, putting in place performance improvement plans as appropriate, and progressing to capability/disciplinary action where required
  • Ensuring that the team is appropriately resourced. Look ahead and pre-empt work peaks, putting in place plans that ensure that workload remains manageable
  • Allocating work appropriately across the team ensuring that the distribution is fair, and transparent
  • Identifying and managing absence issues within the team effectively, partnering with HR where required
  • Taking personal responsibility for recognising the impact that you personally create
  • Fostering engaging and thoughtful relationships across the business, demonstrating how connections can benefit the team and broader business performance
  • Consistently hold individuals and teams accountable for behaviours and contribution
  • Ensuring that people feel fairly rewarded for their contribution and that peak levels of performance are highlighted and celebrated
  • Ensuring that each campaign request from our clients is handled in a timely, high quality and responsive fashion.
  • Managing the end-to-end administration for each assignment, which includes; monitoring agreed deadlines and overseeing any delegated work relating to delivery (including prompting consultants and assessors on various stages of the process), managing timely delivery of all required materials, monitoring management information and proactively keeping it up to date, liaising with clients and candidates, attending meetings as required, and timetabling assessment events
  • Resourcing consultants/associates to deliver key elements of the campaign, confirming dates and fees, reporting deadlines and re-resourcing between other assignments where dates change.
  • Liaising with assigned consultants/associates and client administration teams to book in candidates for assessments, talking confidently through the assessment process
  • Setting up online assessments for candidates, chasing for completion where appropriate and pulling the reports from the system in a timely fashion for consultants with the support of the Project Assistant
  • Liaising with the candidates to explain the assessment and arrange for a further in-depth feedback/briefing with the consultant where appropriate
  • Be the primary contact for the client, consultant/associate and candidates completing assessments/attending assessment days. Dealing with any issues in a timely manner with minimal disruption for the candidate and client
  • Working closely with the Project Assistant on new campaigns to ensure that the project is resourced with the right skills mix
  • Regularly updating the Project Delivery Manager and consultant team on assignment progress, resolve issues from the issues log you keep updated and any emerging client requirements

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to organise and motivate people to work as a team
  • Understanding the requirements for successful administrative support in a dynamic business function and addressing training / development needs
  • Ability to understand the commercial requirements of consultants and clients alike, demonstrating a proven ability to meet expectations, whilst balancing busy workloads and multiple assignments and priorities
  • Knowledge of best practice in terms of developing administrative procedures and processes
  • Strong Excel skills and experience using database systems
  • Demonstrate the ability to prioritise and balance constantly changing and conflicting requirements
  • Demonstrate the ability to self-assess, set personal goals and those of your team
  • Strong and relentless attention to detail, and proven ability to sense check reports and cross check peers' work to guarantee quality
