School Development Executive
Salary: £26-31k
Clerkenwell, EC1V
My client provides fresh ideas for ambitious schools. They are a membership organisation of schools and academies across the UK and internationally, bringing together leaders, teachers and students to drive school improvement and innovation, and celebrate their successes. Their memberships, and professional development and school improvement programmes help leaders and teachers to further outcomes for all young people, and develop leadership at all levels across the system.
We are looking for a competitive and trustworthy School Development Executive to help them build up their business activities. You will be responsible for discovering and pursuing new sales prospects and maintaining customer satisfaction. The goal is to meet and surpass the company's expectations to drive rapid and sustainable growth.
Reporting to the Head of Business Development, you will be part of a team working to deliver a robust sales strategy that is reinforced by data gathered from activities and communications channels.
You will sell products and services sales to non-member schools in England including membership and CPD provision.
You will manage a portfolio of sales leads with the aim of closing those leads in membership and product sales to achieve their Sales and Revenue targets. All communications with customers will be recorded on CRM.
The role has great potential for personal development including the acquisition of new skills and the regular addition of new responsibilities.
The initial focus will be on high-volume lower-value sales. Over time you will be responsible for key account management, higher value and more complex sales, increasing autonomy and a number of face-to-face meetings, and, potentially, client management opportunities.
The role is office based with travel to customers as necessary.
The position is offered as a full-time contract.
Essential requirements
- Relevant experience gained in any commercial area involving contact with customers or the general public
- Proven track records of consistently delivering and / or over achieving sales targets
- Self motivated with a results-driven approach
- Good general understanding of sales techniques
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent customer service and negotiation skills, fast learner and a passion for sales
- Competence and experience in Microsoft Office and a Customer Relationship Management system
Desirable
- Experience of successfully selling membership and/or CPD/training products to schools
- Knowledge and awareness of current English school landscape.
- Professional social media skills - using Linked In and Twitter, in particular - for professional purposes.
