THE COMPANY:
Our client are a planning and development consultancy formed in 1962 and based in Kings Cross. They are now looking to recruit a Receptionist to work alongside the Head Receptionist and reporting to the Office Manager.


THE ROLE:
  • Being the first point of contact, meeting and greeting clients and staff
  • Answer all incoming calls in a polite, professional manner, quickly and efficiently using the switchboard
  • Ensuring accurate messages are taken and passed on in a timely manner
  • Screen phone calls and discourage cold calling sales calls
  • Maintain the visitor book and visitor security passes – check that visitors are expected, that they sign in and wear their pass
  • Organise couriers and taxis when requested
  • Sort incoming post and inform secretaries when ready for collection, franking all outgoing post, logging and completing necessary paperwork for Special Deliveries and track the following day as necessary
  • Keeping the reception area, kitchen and ground floor meeting rooms clean and tidy at all times
  • Print labels and create job and finance files
  • Book and manage meeting rooms – ensuring sandwiches and refreshments are ordered when requested
  • Ad hoc duties as and when required
 
THE PERSON:
  • Must have a polite, friendly manner and a good telephone voice
  • Strong efficiency, reliability and punctuality
  • Highly competent in the use of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage and prioritise own workload, ensuring deadlines are met
  • Ability to multitask
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Must have a strong eye for detail
  • Ability to be proactive and reactive
  • Be able to work on own initiative and be able to work as part of a team
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure
