Established private day nursery based near Clapham are currently recruiting an experienced Team Assistant/HR Administrator to join their expanding team. You will be a key part of the support team reporting into the HR Manager, Nursery Manager and Directors with the aim of assisting with the smooth running of HR and the office.  There will be huge scope to get involved and make a difference working within a friendly, supportive team culture with the flexibility to work either four or five days!

Key duties:

  • Providing administration/PA support to the HR and Nursery Manager.
  • Based front of house meeting and greeting parents and children in a friendly, courteous, professional manner at all times, welcoming new parents when attending nursery visits.
  • Updating the internal database, retaining the utmost confidentiality and discretion at all times.
  • PA/Administration support to the Directors including diary management, arranging meetings with parents and suppliers, sending out letters/memos or correspondence, updating reports and fielding calls, ordering office supplies and stationary.
  • Providing HR Administration support including assisting with recruitment, liaising with agencies, setting up interviews, processing references and DBS checks, onboarding support, organising training and development for staff and monitoring holidays and absence management.
  • Taking minutes
  • The ideal candidate will be highly organised, approachable, loyal and happy to combine administration / PA support with HR duties.

Essential experience and skills:

  • Ideally 12 months office based experience within a client facing/front of house role.
  • A’levels and GCSE’s in Maths and English.
  • Competent using MS Office suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Desirable experience:

  • Part CIPD qualified/equivalent or working towards a HR Qualification or Business/Law A’level.
  • Experience within a similar role within a small to medium sized company
  • Experience of working within a childcare setting, or some experience with children.

This role is paying up to £30,000 depending on experience.
