Executive Assistant to Management Committee - an extremely rare Executive Assistant vacancy in the legal sector, working in one of the world's largest law firms.

Executive Assistant to Management Committee:

This EA role exists to assist the firm's General Counsel with partnership secretarial and constitutional matters. The successful EA will work closely with senior members of the partnership accounting in Finance and the HR team to help provide an integrated and efficient secretarial function for the firm and all its Partners.

Executive Assistant to Management Committee. Key duties:

  • Help deal with LLP matters generally, including helping to maintain the Register of Members, list of Partners, the LLP members' agreement and assist in the administration of Partnership elections, Board meetings and members' meetings (budget and accounts approvals) as necessary.
  • Assist with the appointment of new Partners, including the process management for obtaining client references (as necessary), arrangements for assessment centres, production of business case documentation and medical reports.
  • To help arrange for any necessary partnership votes for incoming partners and be aware of the relevant regulatory requirements for the appointment and registration of new Partners.
  • Assist with the preparation of offer letters and other appointment documents to Partners and ensuring copies are signed and returned.
  • Helping to renew and update Partner letters and documentation detailing new terms, progression through the Partner Model or client/intra-group secondments. This will also require involvement with Partner retirement and other changes, ensuring that the firm maintains proper records of progressions, deferrals and rebasing.
  • Help to keep a register of Partners on parental leave and sabbatical.
  • To also provide assistance to the Company Secretary team in Corporate to ensure that Companies House records and filings are kept up to date.
  • Assist with practice governance issues in relation to subsidiary companies in the UK and other jurisdictions, filings, new member/retirements, changes of addresses, Board secretary, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with the SRA Authorisation Rules (i.e. deemed approved individual managers and FA2 process for overseas qualified partners).

Executive Assistant to Management Committee, successful candidate:

  • You will be a highly organised and analytical individual
  • You will have solid knowledge and understanding of the structure and organisation a law firm
  • Discretion and sensitivity in relation to confidential information
  • Detailed understanding of the LLP Articles and the different classes of partner.
