My client is seeking an Accounts Assistant to support their Finance department. The client is not just another law firm; their ability to meet the exacting requirements of clients is enhanced by their approach, size and location. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Some knowledge of legal SAR is essential!

*To administer the day to day processing of WIP control, including:-
oFile write offs and transfers
oAssistance in ad hoc queries with respect to the financial aspects of the files
oConduct partner reviews of aged WIP, disbursements, and client balances to ensure exposures are properly dealt with
oFile closure and archiving
oIssue and collect various administrative reports to assist the above

*Open new clients after ensuring the that client due diligence has been properly completed
*Assist with entering bills and credit notes on to the accounting system
*Prepare billing schedules and reports for specific key clients
*Ensure that fee earner time recording is complete and up to date
*Continually appraise existing processes to inform system and procedural development
Additional Duties
*Provide cover for other members of the department as and when required
*Assist with the financial training of non finance staff
*Maintain reconciliations for the Firm's bank accounts on a daily basis (not from day one)
*Any other duties defined by management from time to time

PERSON SPECIFICATION

6-12 months relevant accounts experience within a law firm

Key Skills
Ability to work both as part of a team and unsupervised to meet the varied needs of the department
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively under pressure and flexibly when required
Excellent attention to detail essential
Ability to pick up new systems and procedures quickly
Organised manner with ability to prioritise workload
