We are recruiting a Receptionist/ Administrator for a prestigious private college based in a beautiful old mansion building in South West London, paying £20k DOE! This is working as part of a fantastic front of house team responsible for meeting and greeting visitors, answering calls, helping with student enquiries, booking appointments and general administrative support to two Directors of Studies.

Hours:

The College operate a shift system.

Term time hours are normally 8:15am - 4.15pm, 9.00am - 5.00pm and 10.30am - 6.30pm.

A degree of flexibility is required, particularly at busy times of the year e.g. August Recruitment, Easter Revision where some late evenings or weekends may be necessary to work.

Administrator/Receptionist duties and responsibilities:

  • Greeting visitors and welcoming them, making them refreshments and giving short tours of the building from time to time
  • Answering telephone calls and fielding to appropriate staff member
  • Handling students' enquiries
  • Taking messages
  • Booking appointments using Outlook for the Director of Studies
  • Administrative paperwork for at least two Director of Studies including student reports, routine letters, filing, diary management, maintenance of student files, providing administrative support as required
  • Room checks throughout the building to check on students' attendance
  • Attending Open Evenings
  • More specific roles, including:
  • Sorting out the post and distributing it to the staff room
  • Checking the stationery stock and ordering as and when required
  • Printing absence letters and sending them off at the end of the day
  • Answering and dealing with all internet/web enquiries and those from outside organisations such as CIFE, Gabbitas
