An excellent opportunity for an experienced Facilities Manager to work for this prestigious independent Government body, based in Manchester. The purpose of the position is to provide overall management of the day-to-day and longer term Facilities function,
Assist Head of Procurement, Estates & Facilities in reviewing Health and Safety Policy and Guidance, ensuring they are in line with objectives, meet legal requirements and are compliant with any wider external initiatives. Also various project management of facilities related projects such as building works and large office moves
Duties
Accountable for ensuring that adequate accommodation and facilities, appropriate to the needs of the Office, are provided
- Overseeing the assistant Facilities Manager
- Be the technical expert on all Health and safety issues
- Complete the annual Health & Safety Risk Assessment
- Ensure business plan objectives are met for day-to-day facilities function.
Property Management
- Compliance with all statutory aspects of facilities management
- Act as first point of contact for landlord and sub-tenants
- Subletting and management of vacated space, including negotiating terms of lease and financial management (invoicing, recharging etc.)
- Procurement and Purchasing
- Conduct periodic inspections of the property and tenant spaces to ensure compliance with leases and the proper upkeep of the property
- Contract Management
- Statistics
- Security acting as deputy security officer, managing the security vetting process.
- Management and accountability for the facilities budget
- Managing the Facilities Intranet page
- Health Safety
Knowledge and experience required:
- NEBOSH qualified essential
- Knowledge of all aspects of facilities issues - including contract management and environmental issues
- Knowledge of health and safety issues, including legal obligations.
- Experience of budget/resource management and achievement of value for money
- Experience of project management, ideally in a facilities context
- Experience of leading, developing and managing a team
- Experience in a role with a strong ethos of customer service
- Experience of managing external contractors and advisors
Salary: £26,310 - £35,597 - pro rata (Dependant on experience)
Location: Manchester
Contract: Until 10 April 2018
