THE COMPANY: My Client a Global Media company based in the Docklands are looking for a Accounts Assistant to join their finance team. The successful candidate will have gained experience working within a media or creative company. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an established company. 


                                        PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A 9MNTH FTC 


THE ROLE:
  • Ownership of Middle East and Japan Company P&Ls and Balance sheets. Posting accruals, prepayments and other ad-hoc journals.
  • Monitoring Middle East and Japan companies’ revenue, deferring or accruing based on the supporting commercial contracts.
  • Maintaining Middle East and Japan balance sheet recs, for monthly review with Financial Controller.
  • Creating, reviewing and distributing monthly reports to Middle East and Japan management.
  • Creating and distributing monthly cost reports for budget holders.
  • Review and reconcile monthly intercompany transactions across all entities, posting adjusting journals where required.
  • Support Accounts Payable Assistant with processing invoices, expense and purchase orders.
  • Assisting with weekly/monthly bank account reconciliations in multiple currencies.
  • Assisting Financial Controller and Management Accounts with any ad-hoc reports or tasks
  • Management of Petty Cash ensuring that transactions are recorded, journals posted and account is reconciled.
  • Posting and reconciling of salaries and bonuses for Middle East, Japan, China and Americas territories
 



THE PERSON:
  • 3+ years relevant Finance experience preferably in a related industry.
  • Previous experience of revenue recognition, balance sheet reconciliations, and salaries an
    advantage.
  • Numerate, with a good academic background.
  • Experience in Microsoft Dynamics / Jet Reports an advantage.
  • Well organised with an ability to prioritise and manage personal time.
    Methodical approach with attention to detail.
  • Good interpersonal skills and an ability to work with people at all levels.
  • Positive, proactive can-do attitude.
  • Strong Excel/Spread sheet skills required.
  • Experience of working in multi-currency and multi-territory an advantage.
