Our client, a top international law firm is seeking an experienced and hardworking Proof Reader.

The Proofreader is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of documentation by checking grammar, spelling, style, and formatting together with recommending any changes required for correct and consistent formatting.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a global law firm in beautiful offices in London.

Hours are 00:00am to 08:00am.

•Proof read documents including: amendments only, word-for-word copy type, format checking conversion into house style, book reads, cross-referencing of clauses, and defined terms
•Work seamlessly alongside other proof reading colleagues
•Work with proof reading software 'Contract Companion' to ensure best added value results are returned to the fee earner
•Have required PC skills to work with Microsoft Outlook (email), job logging software, and Adobe PDF to return proofing results to fee earner
•Liaise with lawyers, secretaries, trainees, paralegals and DPU staff regarding documents and workload estimations, deadlines and including current and expected workloads. You will also ensure that "Best Practice" guidelines are followed at all times and will liaise with other teams to achieve common business objectives

Skills and Qualifications
•Very good command of English, language and spelling, is essential
•Strong communication skills are essential as you will be dealing with lawyers, partners, secretaries, trainees, paralegals and various support staff regularly
•Demonstrate experience of using own initiative / judgement
•Experience of working in a team
•Experience of working to deadlines, prioritising a busy workload and working under pressure, especially when working alone or during the closing of deals
•Solid proof reading experience
•Degree in law helpful but not essential
•Previous experience within a legal environment would be an advantage
•Flexibility of working hours is required, dictated by workload
