An opportunity has arisen at one of my favourite Law firms to work with and promote.

A strong reputation in the market, this niche practice based close to a number of mainline London stations requires a highly talented Accounts Assistant to work on a full-time basis.

Salary up to £25,000 plus bonus.

Responsible for assisting in the smooth running, efficient and effective financial management of the Firm.

Reporting to the Management Accountant, the key responsibilities include:

-Producing and amending bills
-Drafting bill cover letters
-Sending bills out
-Maintaining billing files and records
-Updating and maintaining write offs register
-Bill reversals
-Inputting disbursements
-Credit control
-Proactively meeting with fee earners to assist with credit control
-Processing supplier involves once approved
-Paper filing of financial documents
-Compiling statements of billing/payments for large matters
-Providing fee earners with accurate ledger information
-Dealing with ad hoc queries from Partners/fee earners
-Requesting cash expenses for staff (completing expenses forms)
-Chasing missing credit card receipts
-Ensuring compliance and knowledge with SAR


The firm are looking for someone intelligent with a can-do attitude and who has a tactful, diplomatic nature (I know....!)

The ideal candidate will be professional, proactive and common sense, and utilise good time management skills to prioritise well under pressure.

They will also be able to work well in a team environment and be willing to undertake tasks that may fall outside of this job description in order to help others. Therefore the drive to self-develop and learn new skills is essential, as is the ability to pick things up easily.
