Project Assistant

Ongoing temporary role with large Engineering firm


Hays are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading engineering firm based in the West End for a Project Assistant on an ongoing temporary basis. This is the ideal job opportunity for an immediately available candidate with a background in project/commercial roles.

Working on multiple projects, your main purpose is to provide assistance to a project team in order to help them deliver the projects.

Duties will include:

• Compiling resource forecasts and carrying out profit checks
• Quotations
• Compiling data for applications and reports, and monitor commercial risks
• Reviewing project payment certificates, sub-consultant invoicing and chasing payments
• Compiling, reviewing, reconciling sub-consultant payments
• Understanding the commercial aspects of the contracts and working within them.
• Documentation - eg recording process, filing and archiving
• Supporting role for Audits - compiling information, chasing actions etc
• Final accounts - compiling information from Ovaview, reconciling against certificates/payments etc.
• Confident communicator within the team/group
• Can handle confidential data/information in an appropriate way
• Support and co-ordinate within the project team
• Assisting in reviewing documents, organising meetings, taking minutes

The ideal candidate for this role will have advanced Excel skills and be able to pick up bespoke databases quickly. You will have the ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure. Strong commercial awareness and the ability to be proactive and plan ahead are essential. You will have excellent communication skills, be self-motivated, organised and highly professional in your demeanour.

This role is to start straight away and so you should be immediately available to start work.
