Excellent Opportunity for a PR & Communications Manager to join this Dynamic Accountancy Practice leading the PR and Comm's Team. Responsibilities
-To proactively lead a strategic and targeted approach to the firm`s media and communications activity, both in terms of corporate PR & comms and within the priority areas as identified in the strategy
-To effectively manage the PR & Comms Executive and PR agency to help deliver the PR & Comms objectives within the firm.
-To work collaboratively with other members of the Leadership team (the Marketing Manager, the Head of Sales and the Head of International Business Development) to review and further develop the strategy and contribute to the team`s leadership and management as appropriate
-To work with partners and colleagues to develop and project-manage PR and communications campaigns
-To maximise the effectiveness and return on investment of PR activity, using appropriate measurement and evaluation tools
Usual duties
-Manage the firm`s relationship with the media, through regular contact with key members of the press; arrange and attend press lunches/meetings as appropriate
-Manage the PR agency to deliver on agreed objectives; direct activity and act as liaison point between partners and agency to steer the message and obtain approvals
-Write and issue press releases, comments, articles, internal comms announcements, etc. and oversee/edit/advise on those produced by the PR & Comms Exec and PR agency
-Identify and target key journalists, pitching stories in line with the goals of the PD strategy. Work with relevant partners/managers to produce content, manage approvals and ensure timely delivery for publication
-Produce appropriate messaging for key firm-wide documents and projects, working closely with the Marketing Manager
-Deliver key projects as specified in the 2017/18 PD Strategy, working with the Marketing Manager as appropriate
-Meet regularly with the Senior Partner and Managing Partner to discuss, review and advise on relevant PR & Comms issues/initiatives
-Coach and help develop the skills and experience of the PR & Comms Executive, particularly in the area of media relations; oversee her work and provide support on any issues
-Coach partners in media handling and prepare them for interviews as required; provide coaching on writing articles to partners/managers as required
-Advise on press office enquiries and any reactive crisis management
-Evaluate and report on PR activity, measuring its effectiveness in line with the PR & comms objectives of the PD strategy
Essential
-Strategic thinking
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-Highly developed writing and editing skills
-Inspires confidence and trust in senior personnel, presenting opinions with gravitas
-3-5 years` minimum experience of working in accountancy/professional services
-Motivational leadership and influencing skills; experience of people and PR agency management
-Crisis management media relations expertise
-Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
-Adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously and prioritising
-Proven track record of delivering effective PR and multi-channel communications campaigns
-Ability to work with colleagues at all levels from junior support staff to the senior and managing partner
-Strong commercial awareness and an appreciation of the marketing, business development and sales processes
-A self-starter and confident decision maker
-A team player.
