This wonderful central London private school is looking for a dynamic, experienced and hardworking PA to support this wonderfully inspiring Headmaster.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Diary management

Plan, organise and maintain the Head of School’s diary, arranging appointments and meetings, so that the Head of School’s diary is well managed and all key priorities are addressed in a timely manner.

Communication

Communicate effectively face-to-face, by e-mail, telephone or letter, with senior management, School administrators, teachers, staff, parents and the wider community, promoting and protecting the reputation of the School at all times.

Management of others

Manage secretarial and support staff in the Headmaster’s office including recruitment and annual performance reviews so that the administrative and secretarial support to the Head of School runs effectively.

Liaise with maintenance staff and regarding jobs to be carried out in the school holidays.

HR Administration

Manage the recruitment process to ensure that good candidates are attracted to the school and the new staff complete all the required documentation. Enter details on the employee database and ensure that the Single Central Register is fully compliant with the ISI inspectorate

Also ensure that all visiting staff and volunteers are DBS checked

Meeting administration and support

Provide full administrative and secretarial support including managing the agenda, distributing papers and taking minute for meetings to ensure the effective management of School meetings and committees.

Attend training sessions as required.

Administration

Compile monthly reports for Head Office and statistics for statutory bodies to ensure that the School fulfills its mandatory requirements.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE  REQUIRED

  • Highly effective communication skills
  • Good people management skills, able to delegate appropriately
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Excellent organisation and planning skills
  • Ability to approach confidential matters with discretion, sensitivity and diplomacy
  • Ability to liaise confidently with senior management, staff, parents and the wider community
  • Friendly, enthusiastic, approachable

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

  • Educated to A-level or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Personal Assistant roles working for senior Management.
  • Computer literate – good skills in Word, PowerPoint and Excel as well as use of databases
  • Minimum 60 words per minute typing
