Sales Consultant for Contemporary Art Gallery
Our client is looking for a Sales Consultant to champion the brand and allow the Gallery to establish its position as an influential player in the market by assisting senior management to build and implement a long-term sales strategy for the business and helping to establish a healthy sales culture within the company. Maximising revenue by increasing both volume and value of artwork sales, whilst ensuring the long-term growth of the Gallery’s artists. Helping to nurture long-term relationships with influential industry members and collectors to support the cultivation of new business opportunities for the company, which will ultimately facilitate areas of growth and expansion within the business. Working with the Business Director to expand the Gallery’s involvement in the secondary market as well as art fairs internationally.
Responsibilities will include:
- Bringing in new clients/potential clients and making sales
- Supporting the implementation of short and long-term sales strategies for the business
- Assisting senior management in maintaining a highly-efficient, motivated and talented sales atmosphere
- Establishing relationships with foundations, institutions, museums and internationally recognised collections
- Attending relevant industry events and promoting the gallery - its brand, its artists and its co-founders
- Keeping abreast of industry news/trends and proposing innovative ideas for business development
The ideal candidate will need:
- Minimum 2 years senior sales experience
- Excellent organisational, communication and management skills
- Extensive knowledge and interest the current contemporary art market is essential
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Driven, ambitious and go-getting attitude
- Naturally skilled networker with exceptional customer service skills
- Exceptional team player
- Understanding and interest in social media in art (Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, Twitter, LinkedIn) - Technologically proficient, with the ability and interest to use these tools efficiently
- Microsoft Office applications
