Drupal Web Developer, £35-40k, 1 year FTC, London

With an exciting period of change happening, our client is looking for a new Web Developer to join the Finance team. This role will play a key part in undertaking the new changes using the website as a tool for financial and non-financial administration.

 

Who will you be working for?

Work for this non-for-profit organisation that employs people to work closely with student sabbatical officers to deliver a wide range of services and representative functions to one of the most diverse student communities in the world. This organisation is the representative body for the enormous number of students of a well-known and reputable London university.

 

What does the role consist of?

The web developer will be responsible for the development and maintenance of the Union website and will ensure that the website if fit-for-purpose, working with departments to ensure that it offers a great online home for all of the union's services. You will work closely with the Marketing and Communications department to make the website user-friendly and in-line with the Union's brand and visual identity.

You'll be working with the Systems Manager to ensure that future web developments are planned, specified and launched to department's requirements and deadlines. They will seek to develop online systems that make it easier for their members to interact with the union's services wherever they are and whatever device they are using.

 

What will the successful candidate be like?

  • Experience of managing and developing a Drupal content management system
  • Experiencing of programming, CSS, web technologies, SQL, UML, interfacing applications
  • Experience of servers, networks and day to day support of IS hardware and software use
  • A track record of developing user focused websites
  • Experience of data protection compliance
  • Experience of developing responsive websites that are device agnostic by design
  • Experience of working in higher education or charity environment desirable
