US law firm is looking to hire a new Business Development/Marketing Manager to take on the sole role of supporting the London office, the firm is not looking to hire an experienced manager with years and years of experience, more someone who has either recently stepped up to Manager or is at Advisor/Coordinator level, with strong experience from an autonomous position who is wanting that next step-up on the career ladder.  Duties will include being asked to assist the CMO and Practice Group Leaders with development and implementation of practice group, team, and individual lawyer marketing plans, assist partners with annual GSAs, to include preparation, and monitoring deliverables, facilitate and support practice-level business development efforts, including presentations, pitches, and proposals and the identification of sales and cross-selling opportunities, monitor industry news/sites/competition and coordinate market research, coordinate planning and execution of client seminars, webinars and conferences, promote the London office practices and developments to other offices through marketing colleagues and internal reporting tools, organise regular Associate business development meetings, organise networking events, coordinate with lawyers, marketing colleagues, and design, print, and fulfilment vendors to produce marketing communications materials, including announcements, bios, ads, invitations, and brochures, coordinate with partners, the CMO, and Director of Media Relations on local media relations efforts, and be the point of contact for the London office, coordinate and facilitate legal directory submissions, coordinate lawyers use of social media in accordance with firm policy, assist the CMO with firm-wide marketing communications initiatives, liaise with the Brussels office Marketing Manager so that the firm’s European offices stay coordinated, manage the development and maintenance of local content for the website, capabilities materials, legal directories, surveys, and internal databases, produce and update marketing collateral, including outsourcing the production of other marketing materials, to include pens, umbrellas etc, work with the CMO and DOA in preparing annual London office business development budget, liaise with the CMO, Senior Practice Group Business Development Manager’s and DOA in monitoring and managing local business development expenses, provide marketing orientation for new attorneys, drive the London office usage of InterAction, helping IA users to understand the importance of CRM and inducing them to share contacts appropriately, coordinate marketing resources and activities with other offices, provide a report for the London Office monthly partner meeting attend quarterly associate business development dinners.  Applicants require 3+ years of marketing experience with legal professional services experience a must, strong interpersonal skills with excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills plus a BA/BS is preferred with Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, English or similar discipline preferred.
