Senior Payroll and Accounts Specialist

Our client, a top US & International law firm, is looking to hire a Senior Payroll and Accounting Specialist to join the finance team of their London office.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the payroll process for all employees and advising on some transfers to and from the US offices. In addition, the individual will advise on tax and benefits queries and previous experience of working with international payroll, tax and benefits processes is therefore essential. This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll specialist in London paying a highly competitive salary of up to £50,000 per annum plus paid overtime.

Typical responsibilities:

• Manage and process the month end payroll and associated benefits accounting process
• Prepare monthly reports for payroll entries for personal invoices, season tickets & other loans
• Prepare, produce and submit by the required deadlines all end-of-year documentation
• Manage and prepare the annual budgets for all salary, fringe benefits, and professional fees nominal accounts
• Work closely with London management, the HR team and staff from the US offices to ensure that all internal stakeholders are kept updated and achieve required deadlines
• Provide guidance and support to members of staff as appropriate in payroll matters
• Keep up-to-date with all HMRC, National Insurance, legislative and scheme changes
• Provide guidance to the appropriate managers to ensure Firm compliance
• Complete various ad-hoc projects as required

  To be considered for this role, you must be highly IT proficient, possess demonstrable knowledge of all HMRC and legislative payroll requirements and have previous experience of working in payroll, ideally within a US or City law firm. Being a member of the Institute of Payroll Professionals (IPP) would also be considered highly desirable.
