Communication is a basic human need. Yet most of us know someone who struggles to communicate through hearing loss. It can cause substantial harm to friendships, family relationships, confidence, employability, mental health and life chances.

Action on Hearing Loss (formerly the RNID) is the UK’s largest charity for the 11 million people in the UK who confront deafness, tinnitus and hearing loss every day. Established in 1911, we help people to take control of their lives and live the life they choose, removing the barriers standing in their way. We give people support and care, develop technology and treatments, and campaign for equality.

As of 1st May, we will be based in a newly refurbished, air-conditioned agile working environment right next to Highbury and Islington station.

About the role

The Fundraising, Marketing and Communications Group generates some £14m per year to fund the charity’s work, and manages the charity’s brand, digital communications, PR and marketing services. A leadership team of 5 reports to the Executive Director, Fundraising and Marketing alongside this role. 

As Executive Assistant you will play a lead role in the Executive Director’s team at Action on Hearing Loss. This varied role has two key aims: To work closely with the Executive Director providing an effective support service, and to support the smooth running of the Group. You will be positive, a great communicator and team player, and highly organised with an eye for detail.

This role will put you at the heart of the development of an ambitious charity, dealing with its most senior executives, trustees and supporters, working on development projects, and helping this busy team of 50 to stay a happy, friendly, smoothly running unit.
