About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to work right at the heart of the Canal & River Trust providing our Chief Executive’s office with outstanding administrative and customer service support. Your role will be broad reaching - everything from strategically managing the CEO’s diary to producing presentations on behalf of the directors, not to mention taking care of meetings, correspondence, accommodation and travel, and liaising with the Chair and his PA to ensure effective coordination with the CEO. Your key aim will be to free up the CEO’s time, so that he is able to focus as much as possible on leading the organisation into the future.
About you
Given the critical nature of this role, we are looking for an assertive and decisive PA who already has significant experience acting as PA to a CEO. You are naturally a highly organised individual who remains calm even when under considerable pressure. Your track record means you will be confident working closely with our CEO, as well as senior people inside and outside the Trust, to quickly understand exactly what is needed to help him maximise his available time. Other important qualities we are looking for include excellent communication and influencing skills, the ability to delegate and some flexibility around hours and travel. You will ideally be educated to degree level (or equivalent).
About us
We care for 2,000 miles of historic canals, rivers, docks and reservoirs, along with museums, archives and the country’s third largest collection of protected historic buildings – preserving them for future generations. We believe living waterways transform places and enrich lives and our mission is to create a thriving, sustainable waterway network cherished by a public that shares a deep sense of responsibility for its wellbeing. Achieving this will be a fascinating challenge. Come and be part of it.
To apply
We aim to represent the diverse communities we are part of and welcome applicants from across all sectors of the community. We strongly believe that a diverse workforce brings with it a diversity of ideas, thinking and ways of working which enhances what we do.
