Banking client based in the city are hiring within their Talent Development team.

The Talent Development team work collaboratively with HR Business Partners to provide a consultancy service, advising and supporting clients on development at an organisational and personal level.

This role involves a high degree of interaction with clients at all levels and partners of expertise within a network of external experts.

The Principal, Talent Development is responsible for shaping and driving the implementation of people development interventions derived from the business strategy, objectives and cultural change agenda solutions. The Principal, Talent Development will partner with senior business leaders and HR Business Partners to provide strategic advisory and support services in relation to talent management.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with business leaders and HR Business Partners to analyse and interpret strategic business needs, identify opportunities to deliver greater business performance through the implementation of Talent Development policies and best practice Talent Development initiatives.
  • Lead organisational change by ensuring relevant aspects of any corporate modernisation programme features in learning interventions and the core values pervade personal and managerial skills.
  • Design and manage programmes and other learning interventions for specific area of focus; leadership and management development, team development and core behavioural competencies.
  • Conduct needs assessments and performance gap analysis to identify, create and implement new interventions and solutions in consultation with business leaders and HR Business Partners to support the Bank's business strategy, processes, procedures and policies.
  • Own, design, develop and implement innovative learning interventions using coaching, classroom training, assignments, experiential learning, distance learning and on-line learning and evaluate their effectiveness.
  • Facilitate and deliver training programmes and learning interventions.
  • Select, appoint and drive the relationships with external suppliers to ensure vendor performance and quality as well as value for money.
  • Continually review and evaluate the learning portfolio, recommending enhancements and additions based on business requirements, feedback and best practice.
  • Instigate knowledge management sharing, educating broader HR Function on TD best practice and latest thinking.

Experience and qualifications required:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent essential.
  • Comprehensive and current knowledge of training tools, development theory and best practice, and the ability to develop subject matter expertise in various fields, according to business needs.
  • Understanding the full talent management agenda and linkages across topics including, Diversity and Inclusion, Employee engagement, Performance Management ,Talent Planning and Talent Development with experience of researching, developing and implementing appropriate development interventions to support these processes.
  • Level A and B qualified in a minimum of 2 psychometric instruments preferred.
  • Accredited Coaching Qualification preferred.
  • Demonstrable history of analytical and results-oriented thinking, solving problems which require an innovative approach.
  • Experience of developing and working with social learning, communities of common practice and learning networks.
  • Significant experience in an international corporate environment, demonstrating awareness of cultural complexities, preferably in a bank or other financial institution.
  • Provides consulting and advisory services in a variety of contexts, able to make difficult and challenging recommendations to clients, which positions them as trusted advisors with senior leadership.
  • Ability to drive key talent development initiatives through strong project management skills.
  • Drive external supplier relationships to ensure fit with the Bank's culture, as well as appropriateness and effectiveness of their offering in meeting business needs.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and computer literate.
  • Highly developed coaching, assessment and feedback skills, able to operate at a senior level.
