Temporary Student Manager - £13p.h - Shepherds Bush
Campus is about to get a whole lot busier with a wide range of new courses and programmes beginning. They need your help to join them on a temporary basis while they recruit permanently.

Our client is a highly successful and well recognised company specialising in training and education for professional qualifications in a range of expert fields. Most well known for its Business School and Law School, this private organisation has campuses located throughout the U.K and is no stranger to global companies and ambitious students. What does the role consist of?
This is an exciting and demanding student Manager role which will require you to build and maintain long-term relationships with the students.
The main purpose of the role is:
- Act as advisor to students in accordance with the University policies
- Lead on and provide support and structure for all school activities to ensure students are appropriately inducted into the school and have access to the necessary information/support
- Produce and maintain accurate student timetables liaising with scheduling departments
- Provide regular communication to students regarding their studies ensuring consistent messaging
- Act as a point of contact for student queries in support of student services and other operational staff
- Record and process academic requests (extensions, deferrals etc) providing guidance to students and faculty as necessary
- Ensure attendance records are maintained for each programme and location and provide routine analysis
- Maintain an 'at risk' register ensuring appropriate actions are taken by the programme team and faculty
- Manage and respond to student complaints/specific requests
- Maintain accurate exam profiles on all students to provide progression information to faculty management
- Communicate and manage deadlines for faculty/module leaders in relation to programme and module responsibilities
- Support faculty team in delivering any training/information sessions in relation to the programme portfolio
- Provide guidance to the faculty team with regard to specific resourcing needs for the programme portfolio
- Ensure students have access to resources and books
- Ensure students' assignments are collected and appropriately delivered to any external bodies or External Examiners by agreed deadlines
- Manage the student support team
Further to this your role will also include:
- Liaise with and support the examinations manager to ensure marking and results deadlines are met
- Support the exam department in the operation of the assessments
- Report on student results and manage exam boards
- Liaise with central departments to ensure the SOFELS is appropriately represented and kept up to date with any necessary information/changes
- Represent the programme as required at committees and other meetings
- Contribute to the development of appropriate systems and processes within the business school
- Maintenance of appropriate information systems (e.g. Banner and Sharepoint).

- Self-starter with the ability to manage problems and find appropriate solutions
- Experience of working in an academic environment
- A good team worker
- Good IT Skills (Excel, Databases, conference/web software)
- Experience of negotiation and managing different stakeholders
- Ability to work under pressure and apply flexible solutions
- Excellent attention to detail
- Experience at producing and managing documentation
- Strong administration and organisational skills
- Ability to prioritise and multi-task when necessary
- Flexible approach to working in a collaborative environment
As you will be working with students in higher education, you will need to be degree educated yourself.
