Communications and Media Officer

Central London
A great opportunity has arisen for a Communications and Media Officer for a health membership related charity in order to support the Head of Communications and Communications Manager in planning, delivering and measuring the effectiveness of the organisation's communications strategy, in line with the organisation strategic vision, mission and charitable objectives. This will be a permanent role based in London. Communications and Media Officer will deliver a range of communications activities, and will advise on their effectiveness, to include planning, writing, editing, co-ordinating and publishing content for various channels, including the website, publications, the media, social media and print.
Key Responsibilities will include:
Plan and implement communications and marketing campaigns
Provide creative, editorial and operational support for campaigns and communications projects, and report on progress
Produce, edit and distribute updates and materials for external and internal audiences
Carry out surveys and other research to inform future communications activity
Help plan and deliver an effective internal communications programme
Create press releases and statements as needed
Maintain a library system for press cuttings, monitor cuttings and report
Develop, manage and update content for the website, reviewing material regularly on the basis of feedback where possible
Plan and create multi-media communications materials
Act as gatekeeper for the intranet, producing content to ensure staff engagement
Act as assistant managing editor for the production and delivery of the member magazine and other publications, working with a range of stakeholders and suppliers to deliver high quality finished products
Write, edit and co-ordinate the production of content, and ensure it is appropriately reviewed and approved
In order to apply you should have the following skills and experience:
Can demonstrate excellent written and verbal communications skills particularly copywriting, proofreading and editing.
Acting as a point of contact for media enquiries
Drafting information materials
Website updating using a content management system
Sending broadcast and bulk emails
Proven experience of conducting and collating research and producing associated reports.
Experience of reviewing materials with a questioning mind and working with document authors to improve content.
Proven ability to manage a large and varied workload, prioritise effectively and ensure that deadlines are met.
Well developed IT skills, including experience of working with Photoshop.
