Our client is looking for a long term temporary member of staff to join them in library services for an initial period of 3 months. This may well go on longer but at present this cannot be guaranteed.

The role is to support staff in their work by ensuring easy access to the information and data they need.
To support the Library Services Manager
To assist with the maintenance of the Library Management System (Bailey Solutions KnowAll)
To contribute to the vision of ensuring that effective information governance is prominent in everything the firm does.


Key Responsibilities

•    Editing catalogue records to improve staff access
•    Managing specialist collections within the catalogue e.g. statistics/data; publications
•    Indexing journal articles
•    Providing a document delivery service
•    Compiling daily news updates
•    Assisting with library requests via ChangeGear
•    Obtaining and compiling metrics on Library Services 
•    Any other duties for the company that are within the capabilities of the post holder
•    Represents the Library Services Manager as necessary


Qualifications and skills
    
•    Information/Library/Knowledge related degree is desirable.

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE IN A SIMILAR ROLE IN LIBRARIANSHIP OR EMPLOYMENT IN  INFORMARION RESEARCH IS ESSENTIAL
•    Search skills - experience of using internet and other electronic information systems/databases
•    Previous experience of working in a library or information service an advantage
•    Previous experience of using a Library Management System an advantage
•    Understanding of copyright
•    Proficiency in Microsoft office
