Our Client, a dynamic wholesale business, supplying some of London’s top restaurants are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to join this dynamic energetic team in a fast growing business.

Experience & Personal Attributes:

  • Solid level of management experience
  • Experience in the wholesale and/or retail sector
  • Experience in managing production or a supply chain
  • Interest in improving systems and processes to improve efficiencies within an organization
  • Experience of providing reporting to a senior level
  • Strong enthusiastic leader with a lot of energy
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Thorough and methodical approach
  • Ability to work in a team and build good relationships with third parties and internal stakeholders
  • Strong English language skills
  • Strong common sense and can do attitude

Additional but not essential:

  • Warehouse management including stock/inventory management or 3PL.
  • Customer services management
  • Interaction with financial and/or CRM systems

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all clients products and services are dispatched/provided on time
  • Manage all their party couriers to deliver at the lowest cost possible
  • Manage the delivery rota and develop more efficient routes
  • Manage the Operations teams to ensure clients pay for all appropriate services
  • Build a positive and constructive working culture across all departments
  • Ensure there is consistent leadership across business divisions
  • Ensure consistent remuneration and reward structures exist across the whole business and are driving general business growth
  • Run the Senior Leadership Team Meeting and manage the team to deliver actions
  • Ensure all members of the Senior Leadership Team have clear objectives and are delivering to them
  • Monitor the commercial negotiation with Suppliers to achieve better commercial terms
  • Ensure the team is utilised effectively
  • Mediate and resolve adhoc issues between company individuals, clients and suppliers
  • Ensure all staff utilise the agreed company systems
  • Design and manage the business to consistent and streamlined processes
  • Develop and implement systems that deliver a highly effective operations team, cost effectively
  • Manage all facilities and ensure working times are adhered to
  • Own the move to any premises of the Company
  • Create Best Practise documentation and ensure it is being adhered to
  • Deliver all Health and Safety requirements and processes
  • Lead the Company's IT suppliers (ie: Internet/Phone/Door Entry)
  • Manage the overall stock systems and levels
  • Ensure monthly stock figures are fed accurately into Finance
  • Streamline stock and storage across the two sites
  • Ensure timely order of stocks and consumables required
  • Lead the negotiations of all stock suppliers
  • Ensure the business invests in its key talent
  • Oversee all recruitment planning and activity
  • Ensure all individuals have clear job spec and role responsibilities
  • Oversee all performance reviews, target setting company wide and any employee disputes
  • Oversee and implement all People (HR) initiatives and strategies
  • Manage HR documentation and processes
  • Contribute to the business' target setting & budgetary process
  • Ensure consistent commercial strategies in New Markets/Product
  • Approve all Operations costs in line with the budget
  • Design and present any investment proposals to the Board, with a recommendation
  • Manage the business to deliver against the approved budget
  • Oversee the business to deliver against the approved cost numbers
  • Be over all owner of the financial stability of the business
  • Develop and present to the Board the annual budget
  • Present the monthly Management Reporting to the Board
  • Develop a plan for utilising all Events Assets appropriately (ie: mobile bars and Ape Cart)
  • Oversee the Events commitments and ensure that these are run at a acceptable profit level and are staffed appropriately
  • Create new avenues for growth
  • Manage to deliver a profitable growing business unit
