Group HRD - International

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Group HRD to lead a growing, transformational HR team in what is already a very succesful company. This is an international organisation which is headquartered in London employs circa 700 staff across its operations in five geographical regions: UK, USA, Europe, Middle East, and APAC.

Reporting to the Group CEO, the Group HRD is a key leadership role at the heart of an ambitious business. we are keen to bring on a business partner who is a strategic HR professional, as well as someone that is able to roll up sleeves and deal with operational issues as and when needed. You will lead a developing HR team, and put the appropriate systems in place to enable business growth, effective performance management and the organisation of talent, amongst other key initiatives.

You wil have come from a similar sized organisation and will understand the importance of building credibility and relationships with people in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environmant.

Main objectives and responsibilities

  • Drive an extensive recruitment agenda to support the business ambitions / growth.
  • Employee training and development - designing and delivering training and development programmes that provide employees with a range of opportunities, and drive longer term success
  • Be an integral part of the leadership team focused on ensuring the effective management of human resources
  • Be a key partner in the business - someone who will be an effective coach and ringleader of the executive team in creating a vision of the future
  • Ensure appropriate processes are in place to enable effective performance and talent management.
  • Improved performance and compensation planning, execution and performance tracking across the group.
  • Continue to build an international HR function, fit for purpose
  • Transformation and optimisation of HR process and admin - putting rigorous processes in place and ensuring that the organisation is effective.
  • Note: Much of this foundation has already been laid and will be built upon.


Person specification

You are ready and able to take the initiative, originate action and be responsible for the consequences of the decisions made. You maintain personal effectiveness by managing your own emotions in the face of pressure, set-backs or when dealing with provocative situations. You demonstrate an approach to work that is characterised by commitment and motivation.

You are able to communicate, challenge and influence a variety of stakeholders effectively. You have an ability to present sound and well-reasoned arguments to convince others. You can draw from a range of strategies to persuade people in a way that results in agreement or behaviour change.

  • A senior, international and experienced HR Director
  • Track record of being a business partner to the Executive Team, able to drive the talent agenda across the business
  • A change agent. Experienced in taking a business through significant growth
  • Strong strategically, able to translate business imperatives and ideas into tangible structures, frameworks and actions
  • Charismatic, a strong leader of people and able to influence, challenge, listen and support their executive colleagues
  • A strong communicator, with high integrity. The ideal candidate will have strength in fostering relationships, building credibility, influencing and inspiring passion and success in others.
  • International experience and cultural empathy essential
  • Strong and established leadership skills are essential
  • Industry background is less important but an interest in market research is critical
