Director of Administration for prestigious Chambers

£90,000 - £100,000

A rare opportunity to be the Director of Administration for a respected and well established Chambers in London.  A well rounded and varied role which requires superb people skills. both people management as well as maintaining and developing new business.

The right candidate will have a "natural flair" with people at all levels, they will be accustomed to managing and motivating a diverse spectrum of people. This person will have proven excellence in building new business relationships and marketing to increase the Chambers' presence and client network. 

Your responsibilities would include the following:

Marketing

  • Ability to work with the Senior Clerk to design, implement and update Chambers' Business and Marketing plan
  • Ability to consolidate and further exploit existing business contacts
  • Ability to provide a progressive and proactive marketing and business development service to all of Chamber’s tenants across different practice areas
  • Bookkeeping / Accountancy
  • Ability to produce and review a set of accounts and interpret the same
  • Ability to produce an annual budget in conjunction with the Senior Clerk
  • Ability to implement the annual budget and to advise Chambers of any spending constraints posed as the financial year progresses
  • Ability to maintain an effective finance management system in order to manage the accounting / budgeting of Chambers’ finances
  • Computer Literacy and IT Skills
  • Ability to oversee hardware and software installation, upgrades and maintenance
  • Ability to oversee day to day effectiveness and operation of Chambers’ IT systems and needs
  • Excellent IT / PC skills  and other operating systems used by Chambers
  • Communication and Relationships
  • Ability to relate to and communicate with a wide range of people
  • Ability to manage a diverse range of professional and non-professional relationships including relationships with Chambers’ clients
  • Ability to manage Chamber’s staff
  • Time Management and Organisation Skills
  • Ability to attend and contribute at all Chambers Management Committee meetings as Secretary, issue minutes and monitor relevant decisions
  • Ability to organise staff development and training and produce schedules for staff appraisals
  • Ability to produce reports as required for marketing or business analysis purposes

Legal experience in a similar environment is key for this role.
